Information You Submit
Search Queries
A name or location entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Ohio Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages
Email or contact-form messages may be retained long enough to answer the inquiry. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Routine logs and analytics may receive technical details when a page loads.
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent
- Referring website, when available
- Visit timestamps
Cookies
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can block them, though some functions may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Operate and improve site performance
- Send searches to the selected partner service
- Measure which pages visitors use
- Detect and repair technical faults
- Display advertising that may reflect user interests
Privacy Beyond This Site
Links lead to sheriff and corrections pages, government portals, county sites, and outside search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy terms control. Those systems can lag, change, or correct a record. A name match needs corroboration, and no linked result is guaranteed to provide a complete custody history.
Advertising partners may measure activity across websites to tailor ads. That processing occurs on their systems, not on the Ohio Released Inmates record pages.
Limited Data Sharing
Personal information is not sold. It may be handled by a limited set of recipients.
- Search partners processing a query
- Analytics providers
- Advertising networks
- Law enforcement or public bodies acting under a valid legal order
Security Measures
Reasonable security practices are used, but no internet-connected service is completely secure. The site cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian may request deletion if a minor submitted information.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal data held
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion where applicable
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
Changes to This Notice
This notice may be revised. Any update will be posted here with a new effective date. Nothing in this policy or elsewhere on the site is legal advice. A release entry does not establish innocence or erase a case, supervision term, registration duty, warrant, or detainer.
